Janet Louise (McKahan) Jinkins was born on April 10, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, to Paul and Maxine (Johnson) Ullrich, and passed away on September 11, 2026, in Jacksonville.
Janet found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life and the people and animals she loved. She had a special place in her heart for animals and cared for a variety of cats and farm animals throughout the years. One of her most beloved companions was her donkey, Pedro, who shared 35 years by her side.
She loved spending time outdoors, tending her garden, working in her yard, and growing beautiful flowers. Janet was known for her playful sense of humor, occasionally slipping a few artificial flowers into her flowerbeds just to keep the neighbors guessing and a little jealous of her seemingly perfect blooms.
An exceptional cook, Janet made every holiday special with meals prepared from the heart. Family gatherings around her table were treasured occasions filled with delicious food, laughter, and love. Her greatest pride was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Janet's kindness, wit, generosity, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Janet was preceded in death by her late husband, Alvin Jinkins; first husband, Ben Beathard; son, James Beathard; parents; brother, J.D. Upton; sister, Connie Gordon; and brother, Dale McKahan.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Beathard and wife, Lydia; step-son, Tony Jinkins; daughter, Christie Ann Beathard; and son, Jason Jinkins; sisters, Norine Joplin and Pauline Larson; brother-in-law, James Beathard; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
