Early voting set May 18-22 for state Primary Elections Run-off

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Registered voters can cast their ballots next week as part of the early voting period for the state’s Primary Elections Run-off.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 18-22, at the following sites in Cherokee County:
• Cherokee County Election Department, 138 W. 5th St. in Rusk
• Jacksonville Public Library, 526 E. Commerce St. in Jacksonville
• The River Church, 595 Marcus St. in Alto
While there are no local run-off races at the county level, there are run-off elections in both the Democratic and Republican primaries at the state level. These include those for U.S. Senator and Attorney General (Republican primary) and Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General (Democratic Primary).
Election Day is May 26, and you may find a list of polling locations at the Cherokee County Election Department online.
