William Timothy Cary
William Timothy Cary of Rusk, Texas, died peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Lindale, Texas at the age of 65.
He spent his final years battling a long hard-fought diagnosis of dementia, but his early years in life he spent as the youngest of 3 children to William and Rethal Cary. He was born in Rusk, Tx on June 12, 1960, and raised in the Sardis Community and received his education through Rusk ISD.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church growing up and as a young man he attended a Christian Motorcycle Rally with John Berry. During the rally “Cooner” was saved, becoming a born again Christian and was baptized at the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk. He also attended Sardis-Baptist Church.
He greatly enjoyed working with his hands and spent many years in carpentry and welding, including a significant portion of his career working for Carl Goff.
During his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, going on walks through the woods, often ending in one of his favorite hobbies, hunting! If he wasn’t in the woods he could probably be found on his motorcycle, going for a ride or going to visit his friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents William Edward Cary and Rethel Ellen (Bell) Cary; brother Stephen Wayne Cary; grandparents Everett Jackson Cary and Monnie Mae (Thompson) Cary, Silas Monroe Bell and Martha Azalee (Masters) Bell; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Survived by his sister Angela Cary Glady and husband Burdett Glady of Lindale, Tx.; nephew Neil Glady Lindale, Tx; niece Emily (Glady) Ochoa and husband Jesse Ochoa Malakoff, Tx; great nieces Avery, Lynlee, and Claire Glady; aunt Billie Cary of Jacksonville, Tx and numerous cousins.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Avir in Lindale, with a special thank you to nurse Kelley for her exceptional care and compassion.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 10:30 a.m., at Sardis-Edgefield Cemetery in Rusk, Texas.
The family has requested memorial donations to be donated in Tim’s memory to the New Harmony Baptist Church Youth Group.
