Troup Continues March to Championship With Another Won
Troup 49 Hooks 19
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Troup walked away with it. They blew past the Hooks Hornets, posting a 49-19 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Brett Wells had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 130 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Josh Childress, who threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs.
Troup pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Hooks, they moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Coming up, Troup will challenge Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 11.5, the Eagles 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Hooks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
