Jim Bob Griffin Jim Bob Griffin

Jim Bob Griffin, 90, of Rusk, Texas, went home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus on October 20, 2025.
Jim Bob was born on July 8, 1935, in Lufkin, Texas, to E.H. and Lillian Griffin.
He grew up in Redland, Texas, and went to Lufkin High School, where he played for the Lufkin Panthers. He went on to attend the University of Texas, where he ran track for the Longhorns. He transferred to Stephen F. Austin, where he met the love of his life, Louverl Lloyd. They married two months later, on June 1, 1956, and were married for 69 years. Together, they served in full time music and youth ministry in several different churches for 21 years. In 1976 they surrendered to fulltime music evangelism and began traveling and singing across the country with their family in many revivals. Among many honors he received the Roy Fish Lifetime Achievement Award for evangelism, but the greatest award was the many souls that he led to Jesus.
Jim Bob loved The Gospel; he shared it everywhere he went. Not only in the pulpit but at the grocery store, in restaurants, gas stations and even the hospitals where he was being cared for. Many times, his children would see him grabbing someone by the hand and leading them in the sinners prayer. This was his passion. He also loved hunting and fishing with his sons-in-law and grandsons.
He loved his girls. He made them all feel that each one was his favorite! He taught them how to love Jesus and follow Him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Pat” Griffin and Lillian “Sissie” Griffin; his brother, Sam Griffin; and his son-in-law, Lane Warren Dyke.
He is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Louverl Griffin; daughters, Kathy (Mark) Richards, Karen (Jay) McKay, Kay Kay (Don) Baltzglier, Konnie (Terry) Easley, and Katie Dyke; 26 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Much loved Grandsons, Josh and Caleb Richards, Jeremy and Jacob Easley, John and James McKay, Heath, Tyler, Kerry Don, Gabe, Levi and Sam Balltzglier, Jim Bob Dyke, Jackson and Jace Kinsey.
Honorary Pallbearers: His devoted Son in Laws, Mark Richards, Jay McKay, Don Balltzglier Jr. and Terry Easley
