Larrey Paul “Bubba” Dean

Funeral services for Larrey Paul “Bubba” Dean, 78, of Alto will be Monday, July 7, at 10 AM at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Chapel in Alto with Rev. Scotty Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynches Chapel Cemetery near Alto. 

Paul passed away Monday, June 30th, in Palestine. Paul was born March 21, 1947 in Alto, Texas to John Lewis Dean and Elva Landrum Dean. He lived most of his life in Alto and had served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. 

Paul was a Christian and had worked for many years at the Cherokee County Barn, Pct. 2. Paul had also worked as a bouncer in nightclubs and as a Hot Shot driver for Alto Concrete. 

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elva Dean. 

Paul is survived by his sister Sharon Luker and husband Morris of Ratcliff; special friend Debra Landrum of Alto; nephews Chris Hooper and wife Marie of Beaufort, South Carolina and Jason Hooper and wife Betsy of Whitesboro; and nieces Elissa, Anabelle, Molly, Emma, Ellie, Abbie and Maddie. 

There will be a visitation Sunday, July 6, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lynches Chapel Cemetery or to Alto Volunteer Fire Department.
