Wells: City Wide Boil Water Advisory

Boil Water Notice Effective March 7, 2025
Due to a CHLORINE INJECTION PUMP MALFUNCTION, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system for the CITY OF WELLS ID# 0370004 to notify customers of the need to boil their water before consumption.
This boil water notice will affect ALL CUSTOMERS ON THE CITY OF WELLS WATER SYSTEM.
To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes. Instead of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.
When boiling the water is no longer necessary, the water system officials will notify you that it is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions, contact Operator Roy Shanks or City Hall at (936) 867-4615.
If a customer wishes to contact TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
