JACKSONVILLE – Get your holiday spirit kickstarted with a trip to the Ruth Bowling Nichols Arboretum to visit this year’s Scarecrow Trail sponsored by the Cherokee County Master Gardener Association.
The event features scarecrow displays, entertainment and snacks, along with a dance troupe on opening day Saturday, Oct. 23.
A CCMGA one-day plant sale, also held annually, coincides with opening day activities, both beginning at 8 a.m.
Meanwhile, the scarecrow trails are open daily, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and closed Sunday. Admission is $1 or one nonperishable food item, which will be donated to HOPE – Jacksonville to support its programs.
The arboretum is located at 1015 SE Loop 456 in Jacksonville.
A healthy Cherokee County requires great community news.
